What a Year it Was!

In case you missed it, our 2019-2020 Annual Report is now live on our website.

Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to invest $11.1 million dollars in community through the Federation Annual Campaign, distributions from endowments at the Jewish Community Foundation, and through special project funding.

Find out how you made an impact through Jewish Federation in areas of strategic importance, like Jewish education and community security. See how we reached out and built community with Jews living in regional communities, and how we helped young adults build on their vision for community. Our reach extended around the world to our partnership region in Northern Israel and to families in desperate need in the former Soviet Union. Our impact went beyond just the 2019-2020 fiscal year, too. We’re planning today for the impact we can make in the future, with a strategic and innovative approach to food security with our partner, Jewish Family Services, and more.

Of course, looking back at the year is hardly possible without looking ahead to the impact of COVID-19. Everything changed in March when nearly every community organization was forced to close its door and provide programs and services online. Many frontline agencies were overwhelmed by the increased needs of families, individuals and seniors hit hard with job loss, reduced wages and social isolation. The crisis is continuing to impact our community and will for some time. The Annual Report outlines the initial steps we took in the first critical weeks of that impact, but much more will be needed in the months ahead—and Jewish Federation will be here to lead the way.
