Endowment Opportunities

The Jewish Community Foundation offers a range of options to make a difference. Our professional advisors – lawyers, accountants, financial and estate planners – can help you choose the product best suited to your giving needs. Along the way, we may be able to help you increase your current income or your estate value while creating a lasting legacy for the community. No matter which giving method you select, the Foundation puts you, the donor, at the centre of the decision-making.

A named endowment fund is a permanent fund, established in your name or the name of someone you wish to honour or memorialize. It may be established with a minimum cash gift, a bequest, or a gift of securities. There are a variety of funds to choose from.

Unrestricted Funds
Unrestricted Funds provide the means through which your charitable giving can have a significant impact. These funds provide the flexibility to respond to our community’s ever-changing and newly-emerging needs. Grants from these funds are made biannually.

Designated Funds
Designated Funds give you the option of choosing which organization(s) you wish to support. Field of Interest Funds support specific areas of interest that are important to you, such as Jewish education, services for seniors, or Israel experience programs.

Philanthropic Funds
Philanthropic Funds offer you and your family the ability to engage in hands-on philanthropy by making recommendations for distributions to a wide range of organizations, including those that support the arts, education, health, and of course, Jewish causes.

Women’s Endowment Fund
The Women’s Endowment Fund supports programs meaningful to women in the Jewish community. The Women’s Endowment Fund is the ideal way for people to honour the special women in their lives. Gifts to this fund enhance the quality of women’s lives in our community today, while creating a legacy for future generations.
