Help Us Make Amazing Happen in 5783!

With a new year around the corner, that feeling of a fresh start and endless possibilities is upon us. It is a chance to make amazing happen!

The past year has been a lot. From emerging out of a global pandemic to facing a rising mental health crisis among our young people, to a war in Ukraine and soaring costs due to the highest inflation in nearly 40 years. If we have learned anything, it is to expect the unexpected.

Facing our biggest challenges motivated our community to reach new heights. But there is still a lot of work to be done. Make your new year a little sweeter by giving, and if you are able, by giving even more generously to the Federation Annual Campaign. Because no matter what comes next, you can help us prepare for the unexpected. And when we act together, amazing happens!

At Jewish Federation, we will continue to use our unique strengths in planning for the future, building partnerships, facilitating collaborations, and generating the funds to support our community here, in Israel, and around the world. But we need your help.

Your gift to the Federation Annual Campaign provides crucial support to the people who will need it most throughout the coming year and beyond.

You want to feed hungry families and deliver the warmth of human comfort and daily meals to homebound seniors. Your gift helps get it done.

You want those suffering from mental health issues to get the support they need. Your gift helps get it done.

You want to ensure that our trusted partners on the ground in Ukraine continue to have the staff, infrastructure and resources in place to help people resettle and rebuild. Your gift helps get it done–and much more, too...

In fact, no other gift touches as many Jewish lives or has greater impact than one to the Annual Campaign.

Start this Rosh Hashanah with your gift of tzedakah and help transform lives in countless ways. Let’s make amazing happen collectively and brighten every Jewish life in our community.

Because when your gift joins with us...Amazing Happens!

Operation Tzur Israel Brings 209 New Ethiopian Olim to Israel!

Operation Tzur Israel kicked off in May this year, when board chair, Candace Kwinter accompanied the first group of 180 olim from Ethiopia. Now, we are pleased to share that another group of 209 Ethiopian olim made their way to Israel last Wednesday after waiting years to realize their dream of making aliyah and reuniting with family.

Representatives from Jewish Federations of North America, including president and CEO, Eric Fingerhut and our international partner The Jewish Agency’s chairman of the executive, Doron Almog, participated in the delegation to Ethiopia to witness the aliyah and absorption needs first-hand.

Eric called it a “tremendous privilege to know that for decades our Federation system has played an instrumental role in the aliyah journey of these men, women and children, as well as in supporting their first steps in Israel. We are so proud to support these vital programs with our Federation dollars. And we will be with the olim every step of the way.

Supported by your Annual Campaign gift, Jewish Federations of North America has already pledged a total of $9 million USD to make it possible for this group of olim to make their way to Israel and provide essential food and medicine to those still waiting to make aliyah.

March of the Living is Back!

March of the Living is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel through Poland and Israel to learn about the Jewish community that once flourished in Europe, the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the establishment and survival of the State of Israel.

2023 marks Israel's 75th anniversary and commemorates 50 years since the tragic Yom Kippur war in 1973. In this coming year of milestones, join March of the Living for a historic program and mark this meaningful time.

We invite those who missed the opportunity to participate in this special program due to the timing of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, as well as anyone else who is interested in learning more about MOL 2023, to sign up here to be notified about an information session that will be held for our local Jewish community via Zoom.

March of the Living registration opens October 12 for all programs (High School, Young Adult, and Adults)

More information about the program can be found here
