High School Debates

Cultivating connections to Israel is an important part of our commitment to building a strong Jewish community. That’s why Jewish Federation is proud to support the High School Debates, which engage nearly 100 students each year in challenging social and political issues that impact Israel.

The research that goes into each team’s preparation contributes to a deepened awareness of important current issues that directly affect Israel. Past topics have involved students in debate about issues such as the removal of the security fence in the West Bank, disabling Iran’s nuclear facilities and whether to pursue prisoner exchange.

Students have a deepened understanding of the complex range of issues facing Israel.
