We are very pleased to share that our partner, Tikva Housing, was recently selected by the City of Vancouver to manage 37 new affordable rental units in partnership with YWCA Metro Vancouver and the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of British Columbia. It is a testament to the trust and respect that Tikva has built with stakeholders across the Lower Mainland, and to the very generous support of the Diamond family, that these new units will soon benefit our community.

With this new project, Tikva will now manage 98 units of affordable housing. The new studios and one-bedroom units at Arbutus Centre will further increase Tikva’s ability to provide affordable housing for a broader range of individuals and families in our community.

When a community member needs support from one organization, they often need it from many. Each of our more than 35 partners specializes in a vital area. We tie together all of the work, enabling each organization to be more effective, more efficient, and more impactful.

At Jewish Federation, we consult and collaborate with our partner agencies across the spectrum. We are poised to identify opportunities for impact years, even decades ahead— and more importantly: act upon. Fifteen years ago, through our strategic planning process, we recognized the need for safe, affordable housing for families. Our response was to help establish Tikva Housing Society.

Today, Tikva is a pillar of our community. Families, seniors and individuals have the opportunity to live in safe, stable homes that they can afford. Parents who were once in desperate circumstances are now able to give their children a sense of security and stability.
