Theatre Jam Sticks Groups Together

theatre-jam-web.jpgThere’s much more to the uniting power of theatre than the simple act of sharing a stage, as participants will discover on February 4th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. when they join Theatre Jam at the JCC. The event is presented in partnership by Jewish Federation’s young adults program, Axis, and the JCC’s drop-in social club for adults with diverse needs, the Bagel Club – a program funded in part by the Federation Annual Campaign.

Celebrating Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM), this 19+ event will introduce participants from the Bagel Club, Axis, and JCC Inclusion Services to theatre exercises and tools that enhance creativity, forge bonds, and, in the process, nurture leadership skills. According to Hila Graf, the JCC’s drama specialist, this evening of “acting, exploring, connection and fun” is aimed at people who’d also like to learn more about the various barriers people encounter, and how creativity can open doors.

Theatre Jam will wind up with a schmoozing session. This event is coming up fast, and tickets are only $18, available at www.axisvancouver.com/theatre-sports. Your ticket includes a JDAIM T-shirt that every participant will wear during the workshop, reading "Beautiful by Design."
