Dust Off Your Dancing Shoes for Netta + Live DJ at Mega-Event

mega-event-web.jpgNetta, the Israeli phenom whose electro-pop song, Toy, won the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, will electrify the JCC on Jan. 26 at Birthright Israel’s Mega Event, a celebratory dance party, with music by Vancouver DJ Krista to follow. The event is open to everyone 19+.

The Mega Event celebrates the 18th anniversary of Birthright Israel, the program that provides free, first-time Israel experiences for young adults, age 18-32. Jewish Federation funds this program through the Annual Campaign, which supports each Birthright Israel trip for local participants. Almost 2,700 local young Jewish adults have participated in Birthright Israel since Jewish Federation became a contributor in 2000. Across Canada, 18,000 young Jewish Canadians have had this life-changing experience.

Netta, the winner of Season Five of the Israeli TV singing competition HaKokhav HaBa (Rising Star), is a proponent of female empowerment. She uses an electronic keyboard called a looper to echo her own voice and sound as if she has singers backing her up. Watch the official Eurovision video for Toy here.

Tickets start at $35 and can be purchased online at jewishvancouver.com/mega-event. The Mega Event is presented by Jewish Federation in partnership with Axis, Birthright Israel, Canada-Israel Experience, Hillel BC, and the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver.
