April is the Perfect Month to Spark a Mitzvah

Vancouver’s internationally best-selling author, Dr. Daniel Kalla, is the speaker at Women’s Philanthropy’s next Spark a Mitzvah event on April 9th, presented by the Lions of Judah, a Federation Annual Campaign recognition society.

Dr. Kalla, a local emergency medicine physician, is the author of 10 books that have been translated into 11 languages. Two of his novels have been optioned to be made into films. He will talk about his background, in both writing and medicine, and his latest work, a thriller called We All Fall Down. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask Dan their questions at a Q & A, and there will be a book-signing afterwards.

Slated to be released on March 26th, his new thriller, We All Fall Down, is set in the present but centres on the Great Plague, which led to one of the first genocides of Jews in Europe.

The event, which begins at 7:00 p.m. at a Vancouver location to be confirmed, is sponsored by ZLC Financial.

Attendance at Spark a Mitzvah events is by donation only. Lion of Judah’s goal is to raise funds to support Shabbat dinners for residents of Yaffa Dunbar and other Jewish adults with mental health issues and other challenges. Dinners will be catered by the JCC Bagel Club, a social enterprise that provides training and self-employment for adults facing barriers to traditional employment, such as disabilities.

Don’t miss out! Please reserve your spot now by emailing campaign manager, Kate Webster, or contacting her at 604.257.5108. We would appreciate you making your donation at the time of registration to hold your spot.
