Bar-Ilan University – Faculty of Medicine in the Galilee

To catalyze a large-scale project with long-term benefits for Israel’s northern region, Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver and our fellow Canadian Jewish Federations provided seed money for Israel’s fifth medical school. Under the auspices of Bar-Ilan University, it opened in October 2011 in Tsfat, near our partnership region in Northern Israel.

Along with the improvement of hospitals across the Galilee, the new school and related research institute will have an enormous impact on the social and economic development of the whole north of Israel. More...
