Jewish Summer Camp Fair

Find the right camp for your child at the Jewish Community Camp Fair. Join representatives from 11 Jewish summer camps on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the JCC.

For many kids the countdown to summer has already begun, because summer means one thing: camp. We are very fortunate in this community to have an incredibly diverse range of camps to choose from. Whether it’s overnight camp, day camp, or specialty camps for sports and the performing arts, there’s something for every child and teen. Camp Fair is your opportunity to learn about the options available as you decide which one is the right fit for your child.

Kids may see camp as a fun way to spend the summer, but parents know there’s much more to it.  Jewish summer camp is one of the most impactful ways to provide children with the foundation they need to develop strong Jewish identities.

A recent study called Camp Works: The Long-Term Impact of Jewish Overnight Camp found the following results when they surveyed young adults who had attended Jewish overnight summer camp as children:

  • 21% were more likely to feel that being Jewish is important;
  • 45% were more likely to attend synagogue once a month;
  • 55% were more likely to feel very emotionally attached to Israel; and
  • 70% of young Jewish leaders in their 20s and 30s had attended Jewish summer camp.

Jewish Federation is proud to present the Jewish Community Camp Fair as part of our commitment to building a strong community and providing opportunities for learning within a Jewish context.
